My source of inspiration is man, in every aspect. Harmony, dynamism and tension are the charactaristic elements of my work. They are present in the relationship between figures, in the movement itself, or in the clear outline of a shape. For me bronze is the material to express it all in.
For years I have cast the greater part of my work myself, using the ancient " a cire perdue" method. As for now I outsource the bigger casting-jobs, but still correct the wax models and finish the bronzes, paying special attention to the patina.
My work compromises bronze portraits -commissioned-, nudes and dancers, set up in a free modelling style. In addition there are the smoothly shaped and polished, abstract female figures; their rounded forms mostly contained by sharp outlines. The interaction between patinated and polished parts adds an extra dimension.
At the moment I focus on the creation of my "Illusions", frozen movements of empty skins, reminiscent of transient beauty.
